30 out of 100  Book is better...
Cathy from Kildare, 18 May 2009
... this is a well-acted and interesting exploration of the allure of facism to the members of the group, and indeed how difficult it can be to see the facistic nature of behaviour when caught up in it...However this worked better, I feel, in the books setting of a Californian high-school, as there was an ernest undercurrent to this that made it obviously the students would be swept along from the is still well worth a watch!!!

It's an eerie movie about how easy it is for mankind to be trapped in the same situation over and over again. And that it seems impossible for humans to learn from the errors they make.

40 out of 100  Fascism Reborn
John from Donegal, 24 Feb 2009
A class of students are taught about Autocracy by becoming an Autocratic group, with frightening results. Very well told story about how absolute power can corrupt, no matter what situation it is applied to. Well acted, with a thrilling ending. Very good.

35 out of 100  good
Colette from Kilkenny, 02 Mar 2009
As subtitled films go, i do not watch many. This film however got such a good review I made an exception. Its about a teacher in a school in Germany who embarks on a week long project which results in a surprising class revolution. Very good, interesting concept of how dictatorships start and evolve

great movie. It's subtitled and done in a kind of documentary style but don't let that put you off. This is a gripping though provoking film about a topic that you may have thought was done to death.

I didn't know anything about this before I watched it, and I really enjoyed it. Great film. (In German, with subtitles)

Very good idea for a film and a good story, the acting is woeful though.
