Good doc. Good interviews, wide-ranging focus on one of the world's greatest nutters.

And the Oscar for best funeral ever goes to...!

Very little about the years before his writing career, and indeed very little on the last 20 years of his life, but what it does depict is dealt with very well. You can really see how could a journalist the early hunter was, and how his own success destroyed his ability to do the job that he so loved...Highly recommended to anyone who enjoyed any of his work

Fear and.....

Documentary, does exactly what it says on the tin.
I read Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, a few years ago, so was attracted to this film. It gives a good insight into the man, his strange career and in a way, his mind.
You would have to be a fan to really like this, but interesting stuff all the same.

Fear and Loathing

Fairly straight documentary about the great Hunter S. Thompson. Its impossible to be boring with a character this vivid, although the documentary is a little too long and po-faced about Thompson. It does a good job of explaining what a complex and contradictory character he was.

The political parts are well worth the rental alone.
Johnny Depp is a smight annoying though in it.
Whats with him holding the gun when he reads??
Other than that, excellent!
