A suspense-filled glimpse into the dark corridors of political power, Fair Game is a riveting action-thriller based on the autobiography of real-life undercover CIA operative Valerie Plame (Naomi Watts), whose career was destroyed and marriage strained to its limits when her covert identity was exposed. As a covert officer in the CIA's Counter-Proliferation Division, Valerie leads an investigation into the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Valerie's husband, diplomat Joe Wilson (Sean Penn), is drawn into the investigation to substantiate an alleged sale of enriched uranium from Niger. But when the administration ignores his findings and uses the issue to support the call to war, Joe writes a New York Times editorial outlining his conclusions and ignites a firestorm of controversy.

35 out of 100  Engrossing Story
Lizelle from Galway, 23 Sep 2011
Good acting and engrossing story. Plenty of fast paced dialogue. Based on the book of the true story it maybe doesn't go deep enough into some aspects of the Governments reaction but a good over view.

50 out of 100  Very good political drama
John from Dublin, 04 Sep 2011
I didn't cop-on that this was based on true events until halfway through the movie. Very interesting movie with great performances from two always brillian leads. I was so drawn in to this that I watched this movie again the next day with the commentary (by Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson) turned on. I'm sure its a little bit one-sided and clearly some poetic license is taken on some of of the sentimental bits - but even if only 25% of this is accurate, it's a tale worth listening to.

15 out of 100  Emmm Boring??
Patricia from Kildare, 19 Oct 2011
Its a true story and a good one but not very well told in this movie. Infact it was very boring. I was very surprised because the two leads are amazing actors. I think this film was wasted on them. Id give it a miss.

40 out of 100  Very good
John from Dublin, 06 Nov 2011
Excellent political drama based on true story. Would make your blood boil when you see the machinations of Bush, Cheney, Libby et co. Sean Penn a bit OTT but doesn't spoil it.

Frightening that it's true events. West Wing paced so had to concentrate! Naomi Watts and Sean Penn give fantastic performances.
